As in all nations, the US too consists of women who contribute to the progress of the nation. Amongst them the Hispanic women are at the forefront of most of the high-achieving avenues of the nation. Be it business, science or sports, these Hispanic women have led from the front to fly the nation’s flag high in the air.

As a community the Hispanics or the Latino’s as they are so often called are very diverse communities. Being descendents of ancestors from Spain, Mexico and large parts of the South American continent with the exception of a few nations, they have stamped their foot prints on all things American. Being almost thirty percent of the total population of the nation and with more than five
percent of the entire community being engaged in the services sector they do have a say in all the American fields. Contributing largely in the service industry like in the hotels and as house maids etc the Hispanic women have laid the foundation to the hotel industry in the country.  Every hotel in the US capital exists today because of the loyal work- force of Hispanic women. Hispanic women maintain and run the show for these hotels.

Business avenues are another frontier where Hispanic women have breached the boundaries.  Especially in LA where the Hispanic women have been able to establish them as a power –brokering community. They have now grown to the role of powerful political kingpin makers also. Major achiever in child literacy program has been Leilani Lattin Duke, the director of Reading by 9  a premier Log Angeles Times’ five county child literacy initiative.  Cynthia Amador was awarded the best advocate of the Year because of the unsurpassed services, her organization CHARO or the Community Development Corp offered. They included business counseling, entrepreneur training as well financial advice pertaining to business and mortgage loans. Hispanic women with their vast experiences are able to make recognizable contribution to the underserved communities in LA. Valerie Sobel is another Hispanic women as founder of the Andre Sobel River of Life Foundation, enables single mothers who are saddled with children suffering from life-threatening illnesses to be cared for full –time by taking the financial responsibilities of such children.
Donna Andrews as president of Lee Andrew Group offers consultancy services in the fields of technology, environment and public affairs.

Thus Hispanic women need to be honored in more numbers to serve as inspiration for other women.
